Woodcock Smokery is a working smokery, workshop space, and place of learning rooted in over four decades of experience in traditional fish smoking, coastal food culture, and craft. Through this website, we offer access to courses, events, products, and experiences connected to that work.
By visiting our site and/or purchasing from us, you engage with our services and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, including any additional policies referenced herein.
These Terms apply to all users of the site, including customers, visitors, and contributors of content. Please read them carefully before using the website or making a booking.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use this website or book any services through it.
We may update or amend these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our operations, events, or legal requirements. The most current version will always be available on this page, and continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any updates.
Section 1 - General Conditions
We reserve the right to refuse service, bookings, or access to our website, events, or services at our discretion, where it is reasonable to do so.
Our website and services are provided for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to misuse the site, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access it in a way that could damage, disable, or impair functionality.
Content shared through this website (excluding payment information) may be transferred across networks and adapted to meet technical requirements. All payment transactions are processed securely, and credit card information is encrypted during transfer.
Content on this website reflects the work and intellectual property of Woodcock Smokery and may not be used without prior written permission.
We aim to ensure that all information on this website is accurate and up to date. However, from time to time, details relating to events, availability, or content may change. We reserve the right to make updates or corrections without prior notice.

Section 2 - Event Bookings
When booking a course, workshop, or event with Woodcock Smokery, you agree to the following terms:
Health & Dietary Information
Please inform us in advance of any medical conditions, allergies, or dietary requirements. While we will do our best to accommodate, we cannot guarantee that all needs can be met.
Bookings, Transfers & Cancellations (Customer)
All bookings are non-transferable and non-refundable within 60 days of the scheduled event date.
For cancellations made more than 60 days in advance:
Bookings may be transferred to an alternative date free of charge, or
A refund may be issued, subject to a 20% administration fee
Event Changes & Cancellations (Woodcock Smokery)
While we make every effort to deliver events as planned, we reserve the right to make changes where necessary, including to the instructor, content, timing, or location.
If we cancel an event or make a significant change (such as date, time, or location) and you are unable to attend the revised event, you will be offered:
A transfer to an alternative date, or
A full refund
Minimum Numbers
Some events require a minimum number of participants. Where this is not reached, we may cancel or reschedule the event. In such cases, participants will be notified as early as possible and offered a transfer or full refund.
Unforeseen Circumstances (Force Majeure)
We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule any event at short notice, including on the day of the event, where circumstances arise outside of our reasonable control. These may include, but are not limited to, power outages, extreme weather, illness of instructors, technical failures, or any situation that may compromise safety or the quality of the experience.
In such cases, participants will be offered:
A transfer to a future date, or
A full refund
Woodcock Smokery shall not be liable for any additional costs incurred, including travel, accommodation, or other related expenses.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify participants as soon as possible in such circumstances.
Conduct & Admission
We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any participant whose behaviour is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate, without refund.
Alcohol
Where alcohol is served as part of an event, you confirm that you are over 18 years of age. We reserve the right to refuse service in line with licensing laws.
Section 3 - Online Shop
By purchasing from our online shop, you are buying products that are prepared, packed, or sourced through Woodcock Smokery as part of our working smokery and kitchen.
Our range reflects seasonal availability, traditional methods, and small-batch production. As a result, products may vary slightly in appearance, weight, or availability from time to time.
Product Use & Responsibility
You agree to use all products in accordance with any guidance provided. Where products are perishable, it is your responsibility to store, handle, and consume them appropriately.
Allergens & Ingredients
We take care in preparing and handling our products; however, they are produced in environments where allergens may be present. Full allergen information is provided where available, and customers are responsible for reviewing this information before purchase.
Orders & Availability
All orders are subject to availability. We reserve the right to limit quantities, refuse, or cancel orders where necessary, including in cases of stock limitations, pricing errors, or suspected misuse.
Pricing & Accuracy
We aim to ensure all product descriptions, pricing, and availability are accurate. However, errors may occur, and we reserve the right to correct these without prior notice and to cancel or amend orders where required.
Delivery & Returns
Delivery timelines and options are outlined in our Delivery & Returns Policy. Due to the nature of many of our products, particularly perishable goods, returns may be limited. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Section 4 - Safety & Participation
Participation in our courses, workshops, and events may involve the use of knives, fire, heat, smoking equipment, and outdoor environments.
By attending, you acknowledge that:
You are responsible for following all safety instructions provided by Woodcock Smokery and its instructors
You will act with reasonable care for your own safety and that of others
You are physically able to take part in the activities involved
We reserve the right to refuse participation or remove any individual from an activity if, in our reasonable opinion, their behaviour may pose a risk to themselves, others, or the safe running of the event.
Woodcock Smokery accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from failure to follow instructions or from risks inherent to the activities, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Section 5 - Website Content and Intellectual Property Rights
We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our website and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved. You may not copy or reproduce part or all of the contents of the website in any form, including, without limitation, its incorporation into or storage in any other website, electronic retrieval system, publication, or other work (whether hard copy, electronic, or other) without our express permission.
We reserve the right to update our website and these terms and conditions from time to time, and may modify the content at any time. We do not guarantee that our website or any content on it will be free from errors or omissions.

All assets on this website remain the property of Woodcock Smokery and are subject to copyright. No one has the permission to use our logo, illustrations, copy or photography without written consent from an authorised person of Woodcock Smokery.
